There will be two “town hall” meetings to discuss the DOE’s proposed rezoning plan, prior to their formal presentation to the CEC and the D13 community on September 30th. (Scroll to the end for information on that meeting.)
The first town hall will be at PS 307, 209 York Street, on Wednesday, September 16th, from 6-7:30 pm.
The second town hall will be at PS 8, 37 Hicks Street, on Monday, September 21, from 6:30-8 pm.
At each meeting, staff from the DOE’s Office of District Planning will do a short presentation on their proposed rezoning scenario, and will then remain on hand for questions. CEC members will be in attendance at both meetings.
Everyone is welcome at either meeting. However, those parents who are allied with their respective schools are likely to be the primary focus of each town hall, to ensure that all voices and perspectives are heard.
Gathering feedback from our affected communities is the overriding focus, so we’re hoping for a strong turn-out at both meetings. Please spread the word!
Feedback from these meetings will be considered by the DOE as they prepare their formal proposal to the CEC and D13 communities. This proposal will be presented at the CEC’s next Calendar Meeting, on Wednesday, September 30th, 6:30 pm, at P.S. 307 (209 York St.). At that meeting, there will again be an opportunity for public comment.
