Protect public education: Reject the

“education investment tax credit”

New York’s political leaders are negotiating the state’s education budget. A Republican proposal would give huge tax breaks to people and corporations    that donate money to privately operated charter schools and scholarships        for students to attend religious schools.

More than a half billion dollars in taxpayer money is at stake, not to          mention our core values – by funding religious schools, this is an end                run around the separation of church and state.
